Distance and horizon

I needed to hitch a ride to get to town. You see, I'm not well at the weel.
I needed a boat to get to the other side. You know I'm no good at swimming.
I decided to stay very put that day. You've noticed how static I am.
I measured the distance and horizon, but without you I'm nothing at all...
